Prononcio!
Objective: Develop pronunciation skills
Prononcio disparum! Oh no, Graficius the wicked magician has put a curse on the villagers! They can't pronounce the words they know. Help them relearn how to pronounce the words and cast a spell on Graficius to teach him a lesson!
Prononcio! is a game designed to challenge the pronunciation skills of children aged 2½ to 5. Players must name words in order to form more pairs than their opponents, and cast a spell on the wicked magician. The game includes five sets of words involving increasingly complex pronunciation skills.
The five sets of words encourage children to develop their pronunciation skills progressively, as they develop their small mouth muscles and learn to distinguish and produce the sounds that make up words. More specifically:
- Set 1 includes words made up of one syllable and easy-to-pronounce consonants ("m", "n", "t", "p", "b" and "d") such as pot, nez, dé, dos and but.
- Set 2 includes words with one or two syllables, easy-to-pronounce consonants ("m", "t", "p" and "b") and the slightly more difficult-to-pronounce consonant "l", such as button, sheep, candy, apple, ball and bubbles.
- Set 3 includes words with one or two syllables and more difficult consonants ("v", "ch", "j", "s" and "z") such as chat, chou, joue and bouche.
- Set 4 includes words with one or two syllables and more difficult consonants ("k", "r" and "l"), such as horse, run, cherry, mouse and giraffe.
- Set 5 includes words with one or two syllables that are more difficult to pronounce, such as train, cheese, triste and fourchette.
- Suggested age: 2½ to 5 years
